Laying Down Dreams
Have you ever had the perfect person love you, but the relationship doesn’t work out? Have you poured your heart into your child, and then have her choose a path that takes her far from home? Have you had a heart so full of sorrow and loss that you can’t see how God could mean it for good?
Meet Katie. A regular girl who somehow found herself living in Uganda and adopting a houseful of children. And it isn’t even about the service. She’s got an amazing perspective on God’s love and care for her during difficult circumstances. Check her out.
“OH, how beautiful it is to see my American family and my Ugandan family under the same roof (come quick Mom!!). But there is always such a great sadness as they leave, that in my heart I know that my WHOLE family will never live on the same continent, will very seldom be TOGETHER in this life. I cannot begin to put into words the gratitude I have for my American family. I am not the only person who has laid down dreams for this ministry to be successful and for my baby girls to have a mother. As much as I have laid down dreams of living down the street from my parents, raising my children near their awesome grandparents, hanging out with my family, they have laid down their dreams for me”
It is my hope that our daughters do and do not grow up to be women like Katie. Maybe it is closer to the truth to say that I want to want them to be like her.
